Technical Preconditions (A01) (goto top)

A01-A	SuperOffice CRM Windows Client or Kontineo Frontier running on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005 database platform
A01-B	SuperOffice CRM version 5.6, 6.0 or 6.1 or Kontineo Frontier version 1.1 or later
A01-C	Travel is MSDE (Best), SuperOffice Built in (Limited functionality) or none	Applies to SuperOffice only.
A01-D	SQL server hardware minimum receommendation: 1GHz Processer, 1 GB RAM, 200 MB Harddisk space on disk where CRM is installed.
A01-E	CRM5 user SQL Login and password – has sysadmin rights on SQL Server.
A01-F	MS Office 2000, 2003 or 2007

Installation (A02) (goto top)

A02-A	Download the Kontineo 2006 Software Platform installation file from: www.kontineo.com/download
A02-B	Run the installation on a SuperOffice Windows Client or server. Follow the on-screen instructions (default settings are recommended).	Note: On Vista, run the installation file as Administrator
A02-C	Note 1: If you are upgrading, you just install over the existing installation.
A02-D	Note 2: Users must have read/write/create/delete permissions on the Kontineo 2006 Program folder and sub folders for Kontineo 2006 to work.
A02-E	Note 3: On Windows server 2003 you will get the error "The procedure point sstrcatI could not be loacted in the Dynamic Link Library MSDART.DLL." This is a known issue in multiple WEB forums, but no concequences of this error has been detected.
A02-F	The Kontineo 2006 will detect if SuperOffice CRM is installed. If installed, it will install in the ...SuperOffice\Modules\Kontineo\Kontineo 2006 folder. During the installation, it will backup any files it replaces to the ...SuperOffice\Modules\Kontineo\Kontineo 2006\BACKUP folder. If SuperOffice not installed it will defualt to install in ...Program Files\Kontineo\Kontineo 2006

Activate License (A03) (goto top)

A03-A	Select WEB activation in the screen that appears when you start Kontineo 2006 the first time, and accept License terms. Click next will load an issued license, or a 30 days trial license will be issued.	If WEB activation fails, it may be due to Firewall blocking. In that case, select manual activation.

User License Activation (A04) (goto top)

A-04A	Menu: Administration -> Advanced -> License & Solution Management Grant user License and Administrative rights to users	The currently logged in user needs license and Administrative rights as minimum at this point, you can setup other users at any time.

Application Roll Out (A05) (goto top)

A-05A	To deploy Kontineo 2006 with SuperOffice soloader, you must have installed Kontineo 2006 on the server in the ... SuperOffice\Modules\Kontineo\Kontineo 2006 folder.	Applies to SuperOffice Only
A-05B	Copy the Soloader_kontineo2006.ini file from the the Kontineo 2006 program folder to the SuperOffice\client folder.	Applies to SuperOffice only. Kontineo 2006 will be distributed to all SuperOffice Windows Clients
A-05C	You can also install Kontineo 2006 at clients by running the Kontineo2006install.exe file on each client, either manually or using login scripts. Use /s to run the installation script in silent mode.
A-05D	To upgrade Kontineo 2006 when using the soloader method, run the latest kontineo2006install.exe file on the server, installing over the existing istallation.	The upgraded Kontineo 2006 files will then be distributed to clients by SuperOffice Soloader. (If changed, copy the latest Soloader_kontineo2006.ini to SuperOffice\Client as described in A05B)
A-05E	To upgrade when you have installed manually on each client, you must run the kontineo2006install.exe on each client.

WEB Panel and Buttons Configuration (A06) (goto top)
WEB Panels are Kontineo Cockpit Tabs or WEB Panel tabs at the contact card, etc. SuperOffice and Frontier standard functionality supports integrating external applications in the user interface. Kontineo 2006 provide easy start-up configuration functionality. Use the SuperOffice/Frontier administration functionality for further configuration.

A06-A	To initially Create WEB Penels and Buttons in SuperOffice, use the "Create SuperOffice WEB Panels" functionality in Kontineo 2006, then use the SuperOffice Admin client for further configuration. Menu: Administratiion -> Advanced -> More functionality ->	Applies to SuperOffice Only

~~A07-A~~	If Kontineo 2006 is going to be used in conjunction with SuperOffice or Frontier running in a Terminal Services environment, set the "Enable TS Mode" in Kontineo 2006. (Note: This is a global setting - TS Mode can also be run when run on Windows Clients)	~~Note: All users must have full read/write/create/delete access to the Kontineo 2006 folder and sub folders.~~ This functionality is not used after Kontineo 2006 version 5.805.510

Server Mode Implementation (A08) (goto top)
If Kontineo 2006 is going to run Jobs, it needs to be configured to run in Server Mode on one or more Servers or Workstations functioning as Kontineo Servers.

A08-A	Recommended solution: Install Firedaemon Pro to manage Kontineo 2006 instances to run as Windows Services. - Install and configure Firedaemon on the server/workstation - Configure Kontineo 2006 Server Mode Instances in Firedaemon Service Manager	See Setup Kontineo 2006 to run in servermode as a Windows service
	Alternative solution (Not recommended): Use Windows Startup Folder method - Create Shortcuts with parameters configured to start Kontineo 2006 Instances in Servermode - Place Shortcuts in the Windows Startup folder for the Administrator. - Implement procedures to ensure that the Administrator always logs on to Windows after restart of the server. - Implement procedures to avoid RDP connections that start-up multiple simoultaneous Kontineo 2006 Server Mode Instances.
